An accurate health history is essential to ensure that it is safe for you to receive a massage therapy treatment. If your health status changes, let your massage therapist know as soon as possible, and your health form will be updated.
Now Book with Olivier at Woodbine Chiropractic & Massage Therapy
You probably heard the news that massage therapy services could resume on an appointment only basis without the need for referrals or prescriptions commencing January 18th, 2021.
On hearing this news, I was delighted to finally be able to see you again, but the process of reopening and supporting local businesses can be difficult to negotiate, which is why I have spent the last few weeks figuring out the best process for cleaning, sanitizing, and booking to ensure the safety of my clients.
Clients such as yourselves have helped me build this business, so it's of paramount importance to me to ensure you always feel safe and comfortable. That’s why I wanted to take a minute to tell you what I’m planning as a protocol for appointments going forward. With that being said, if there’s anything you feel I’ve overlooked below, I want to hear from you! Please don't hesitate to reach out and send me an email. Listed below is my current plan for standard procedure:
I will resume practicing on Monday February 22nd, 2021 and will start taking appointments as of today. Currently, I do not have an office/clinic. Due to this I will be operating a mobile service and also be receiving a limited number of clients at my home address (Bankview). My days and hours of operation have been updated on my website to reflect this.
For my mobile service l will come to you with my massage table, PPE, cleaning supplies and all the material needed for the type of treatment you requested.
I will be practicing increased caution with my health and safety protocols.
I will be following the AHS recommended guidelines as well as the “COVID 19 Infection Prevention and Control Manual for Massage Therapists in Alberta” to the letter to always ensure your safety.
As per request, I am now offering equipment rental, the terms and conditions of this new service will be updated on my website.
As I need to allow sufficient travel time between each appointment, my online booking system will be disabled until more normal practices resume. While my online booking system is disabled you are able to make an appointment by contacting me via email or text message.
My previous cancellation policies still apply, which consist of requiring 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Of course, if you wake up feeling ill on the day of your appointment, these policies don’t apply! Please stay home and take care of yourself!
In the case that government requirements change again, I will have to adapt my work to reflect new regulations or rules as they arise and will notify you of these changes as soon as I am able to. I will do everything I can to make this process as simple and painless as possible for you while also prioritizing your health and safety.
I am excited to resume practicing and can’t wait to help you achieve your health care goals! Until we see each other again (which is so soon!), be well!
No injury is the same. Soft tissues heal differently and respond to treatment differently. To tailor your treatment plan to your condition, the therapist must first assess to find out the way the injury occurred, and the type of tissue involved.
SPORTS/ REMEDIAL MASSAGE
The intend of Sport/ Remedial Massage is to maintain and rehabilitate the soft tissue of the body for them to perform at their optimal level.
Depending on the client's condition, the therapist will combine a variety of techniques such as Joint mobilization, Deep tissue massage, PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) stretches, Myofascial release to keep the muscles, tendons, and ligaments healthy and mobile.
This type of Massage is beneficial for people who have a high physical demanding job, who want to be more physically efficient by limiting the risk of injury, for athletes that need to perform at their maximal potential, for office workers and individuals having a sedentary lifestyle.
Cupping is a type of alternative therapy that originated in China. It involves placing cups on the skin to create suction.
Cupping increases blood circulation to the area where the cups are placed and can help relieve muscle tension, which can improve overall blood flow and promote cell repair.
SWEDISH CLASSIC RELAXATION
The benefits of Swedish massage include increased blood circulation, mental and physical relaxation, decreased stress and muscle tension, and improved range of motion.
The specific techniques used in Swedish massage involve the application of long gliding strokes, friction, and kneading and tapping movements on the soft tissues of the body. Sometimes passive or active joint movements are also used.
You Are One Massage Away
From A Good Mood
All modalities such as Swedish relaxation, Deep tissue, Cupping, Neuromuscular facilitation are offered at the same rate to ensure the most effective treatment is delivered.
Clients are responsible for the time they reserve for their appointment. If you are late for your appointment the treatment will still end at the designated time with no change in fee. If it is your first time, make sure to arrive 10 minutes early to complete your health history form so you will receive your full length of treatment.
To accommodate all of our clients, we require a 24 hours notice for cancellation or rescheduling. Less than that is not adequate time for us to offer your appointment time to others. If you are unable to keep your appointment, we request that you call or leave us a message 24 hours in advance.
If you do not contact us to cancel or reschedule before the 24 hours and do not show up for your scheduled appointment, you will be required to pay the full cost of the treatment as booked. Please understand that therapists receive payment only if they deliver treatment. We recognize that no one is perfect and some circumstances are out of your control (sudden illness, family emergencies, etc.) and so your therapist may make an exception to the above policies on those rare occasions.
Missed appointment fees are not to be direct-billed. We can give you a receipt for the service you have late canceled or missed that you are welcome to submit to your insurance provider.
